Return to Berlin: BNPL enabler axytos at Payment Exchange 2023
After the extremely successful stops at the E-Commerce Expo in Berlin and the EuroShop in Düsseldorf, the road crew of the BNPL enabler axytos went to the German capital again in mid-March. Under the motto ‘Fiesta PEXicana’, everything revolved around the latest trends and developments in payment traffic for two days at the Tipi at Kanzleramt. And since the programme of the exclusive Invite-Only event spoke of top experts and top-class speakers and visitors, the axytos team with its further developed White Label BNPL solutions for merchants, marketplaces, payment service providers and banks could not be missing.
We spoke to axytos Head of Sales Christoph Overmann about the insights from PEX 2023.
Payment was the core topic of PEX 2023. What did you take away for axytos?
At the event, it once again became clear with what speed we as axytos are in the fast lane, which of course we will not leave again (grins). You see: the entire payment industry has changed massively in recent years and will continue to do so in the future. And axytos is an important part of this development. Because as a FinTech, axytos offers a completely API-based cloud platform on which we can map new, digital, customer-specific business and billing models for the entire customer financial lifecycle very quickly and easily. As a white label BNPL enabler, we enable e-commerce and PoS merchants, marketplaces and payment service providers, for example, to implement their own BNPL offers.
axytos Head of Sales Christoph Overmann (on the photo to the right of his colleague, Michael Fait): “With the further developed axytos Invoice Purchase 3.0, we offer a free plugin for all relevant shop systems with which merchants can demonstrably increase customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, achieve high conversion rates and larger shopping baskets”.
Many claim that the hype around the topic of BNPL is already over. How do you see it?
I must clearly disagree: From axyto’s point of view, the BNPL issue is far from over. This is also confirmed by our numerous talks with industry experts in Berlin. It is now much more a question of enabling manufacturers, for example, who have recognised e-commerce as a new and promising channel for direct sales, to offer their buyers attractive BNPL offers such as purchase on account. With the further development of axytos Invoice Purchase 3.0, we identified this need at an early stage and offer a free plugin for all relevant shop systems, with which retailers can demonstrably increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, achieve high conversion rates and larger shopping baskets.
What else did you take away from PEX 2023?
The Tipi at Kanzleramt is an absolutely top location in Berlin, so the organiser can be congratulated for the choice. Moreover, it was a very good idea to make the PEX so colourful in a Mexican way and with a lot of humour. This gave the rather dry topic of payment a very fresh and lively touch. Last but not least, gender balance at a financial event is unfortunately still very rare. The PEX did it at the panels!
What can interested parties do who were not present in Berlin and would like to talk to axytos?
Interested parties can easily arrange an appointment with axytos via the axytos homepage. We will be happy to present the axytos solution portfolio for merchants, manufacturers, banks and payment service providers in a detailed and individual online demo, but we are also happy to exchange ideas in person.
